Police Hunt For Man Who Killed, Torched Girlfriend
MORENO VALLEY (AP) — Homicide investigators say a Southern California man charged with killing his ex-girlfriend and torching her body in front of her six children has eluded capture.
Riverside County prosecutors have charged Tyrone Levoid Harts, 39, with the Feb. 22 killing of 35-year-old Brandi Marie Morales in her Moreno Valley home. Harts is the woman's former live-in boyfriend.
Sheriff's investigators say Morales' children, ages 6 to 15, witnessed the attack and one of the youngsters put out the flames.
Homicide investigators say in a news release Saturday that they are asking for the public's help in finding Harts, who is described as armed and dangerous.
