Police: Homeless Woman Attacked Studio City Customer In 'Random' Stabbing
STUDIO CITY (CBS) — A customer at a Studio City dry cleaners was in critical condition Monday after he was reportedly stabbed by what police called a female transient outside the store.
Police said a customer was exiting Laurelwood Cleaners on Ventura Boulevard just east of Laurel Canyon at around 1:00 p.m. when a homeless woman allegedly began stabbing the man.
An initial investigation suggested the attack may have been random, police said.
"What's unusual about this is it really does appear to be completely random," said LAPD Capt. Justin Eisenberg.
The transient reportedly "said some things" to the customer before "severely" stabbing the customer, said Eisenberg.
The victim was transported to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center where he remains in critical condition.
Police arrested the suspect blocks away from the store. No weapon has been found.
