Police: Granada Hills Baseball Coach Smoked Pot With Students
GRANADA HILLS (CBS) — An assistant baseball coach from a Granada Hills high school has been removed from his job after allegedly smoking marijuana with students.
Pedro Cruz Trujillo, 24, was arrested Monday after investigators found he had smoked marijuana with students from Kennedy High School while driving them to a Dodgers game in May, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Six kids between the ages of 14 and 16 were in the vehicle during the incident, police said.
A school staff member then heard the allegations and reported it, according to police.
Trujillo faces six counts of child endangerment and is being held on $100,000 bail.
School officials removed him from his coaching job after the allegations surfaced.
Los Angeles police will hold a noon news conference to discuss Trujillo's arrest.
