Police Find Pot-Growing Operation After OC Home Catches Fire
ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) — Authorities are investigating a marijuana growing operation at an Orange County home that caught fire Tuesday.
Officials received a call about a fire at a two-story home in the 1500 block of Tonia Court at 4:05 a.m.
When firefighters arrived on scene, 12- to 15-foot flames could be seen shooting through the roof, Maria Sabol of Anaheim Fire and Rescue said.
One person was home at the time of the fire.
"He readily admitted that he was growing medicinal marijuana and that he has a license, but this is being investigated," Sabol said.
It took approximately 50 firefighters about an hour to extinguish the flames.
No one was injured.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
