Police Fail To Locate Murder Suspect In San Pedro Barricade
SAN PEDRO (CBS) — Police Wednesday surrounded a residence in San Pedro where a homicide suspect was thought to be barricaded, but the man was not inside, authorities said.
A SWAT team was sent early this morning to the area of 25th and Alma streets, Los Angeles Police Department Officer Norma Eisenman said. Shortly before 7 a.m., officers determined that the man was not in the residence.
On Tuesday about 10:35 a.m., paramedics were sent to the 2600 block of South Alma Street, where a man had been shot inside his home. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two men who apparently impersonated law enforcement officers were being sought for the killing, police said.
Assistant Coroner Chief Ed Winter said the victim, who was in his 20s, was shot once in the head. His name was being withheld pending notification of relatives.
