Domestic Dispute Led Sylmar Man To Run Over, Kill Father With SUV
SYLMAR (CBS) — Police are investigating the death of a man who was killed when his son ran him over with an SUV Tuesday night.
Paramedics and police were initially called to a traffic collision at 8:11 p.m. to 13244 Bradley Ave. in Sylmar, Los Angeles Fire Department officials said.
Upon further investigation, Los Angeles police determined a domestic argument led to the murder of Francisco Martinez, 62.
Detectives say the arguement escalated and Luis Martinez, 26, got the behind the wheel of an SUV and pinned his father against a mail box with the vehicle outside of the family home. Police said Martinez also hit one of his brothers with the SUV.
Francisco Martinez died on the scene, according to authorities. The other victim was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries but was listed in stable condition.
Police have not confirmed what led to the argument. Luis Martinez has been arrested for murder.
Officials said Francisco Martinez's wife witnesses the incident.
