Police Credit Phone Tracking App With Capture Of 2 Armed Robbery Suspects In OC
ORANGE COUNTY (CBSLA.com) — The Find My Phone App helped police from three cities capture two suspects wanted for a series of takeover-style robberies.
App Leads To Break In Robbery Case
Raul Ochoa, 20, and Eric Camacho Gonzalez, 18, are accused of taking in a total of about $7,000 in the 12 evening heists between January 3-February 21 in Santa Ana, Garden Grove and Anaheim.
Santa Ana Police Chief Carlos Ramos says in one of the brazen armed robberies a cell phone was stolen. The break in the case came when police linked the mobile device to gang members in Ontario.

"The robbery that occurred at a cell phone store here in Santa Ana that was really the break in the case," Ramos said. "Not only helping us locate the suspect but also interacting with the Ontario Police Department, who ultimately has great knowledge of their gang members in their city, were able to identify these individuals for us."
In a February 17 heist at the smoke shop at 1204 S. Brookhurst St. in Anaheim, the store owner opened fire on the masked suspects. One of them fired back. No one was hit.
