Police Chase Suspect On Motorcycle, Nab Him At AutoZone Store After Foot Pursuit

WOODLAND HILLS (CBSLA.com) — Police Wednesday chased a motorcyclist for 40 minutes on the 101 and 60 freeways before the pursuit ended in East Los Angeles, according to authorities.

The suspect was originally wanted for driving erratically in the Woodland Hills area.

Police say the man drove at excessive speeds (upward of 80 mph), and, at times, was on the wrong side of the road.

During the pursuit, the suspect was seen weaving between cars and Stu Mundel, reporting in Sky2, said he had "several close calls."

The man could be seen reaching into his trench coat several times during the chase, which went through several cities before coming to a bizarre end in East LA when he drove up to a home.

The suspect got off his bike and ran toward the residence before a man then came out of the house and moved the suspect's motorcycle.

The suspect then walked out of the house after taking off his trench coat and was followed by Sky2 as he walked to an AutoZone store, which police immediately surrounded.

Mundel called the finale "the most bizarre ending of a pursuit I've seen in a long time."

The suspect was arrested and authorities say they believe he has out-of-state warrants for felony evading.

No other details were immediately available.
