Police Chase Possible DUI Suspect
NORTH HOLLYWOOD (CBS) — Police are chasing a possible DUI suspect in North Hollywood.
The chase started about 3:45 p.m. Friday.
There is reportedly a passenger in the vehicle.
It is unclear where the chase began.
The motorist has been making erratic lane changes on the 210 Freeway.
Stu Mundel, reporting from Sky9, noted the driver was going at extremely high speeds "and often driving dangerously."
The chase went through the 5, went to the 210 and the driver was apparently headed to the 14.
On at least two occasions, the driver tried to commandeer his car through tight spaces.
In Newhall, he got off the freeway and he went on surface streets.
In what looked like an apparent attempt to hide, the driver drove and his female passenger ditched their car and jumped a fence.
As he ran away from law enforcement, the driver was shown limping and it was unclear if he has a leg injury or was intoxicated.
After approximately five minutes on the run, LAPD took the two suspects into custody.
