Police Ask For Public's Help Finding Hollywood Robbery Suspect

HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Police are asking for the public's help finding a suspect wanted for the May 10 stabbing of a man outside an apartment building in Hollywood.

According to the LAPD, the suspect, who is considered armed and dangerous, was caught trying to steal the victim's laptop at a building located at Russell and Western avenues just before 5 a.m.

Detective Warren Eberhardt, of the LAPD's Hollywood Division, said the suspect and victim were walking out of the complex together when the victim noticed his laptop was missing.

When the victim confronted the suspect about his missing computer, the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim multiple times in the upper body with an unknown sharp object and then fled with the item.

The victim, whose identity has not been released, is recovering in hospital.

A photo of the suspect was released by authorities Wednesday.

Police say they are looking for an African American male in his 20s or 30s, about 6 feet 2 inches tall and 170 pounds. He is also believed to have a distinctive bald spot on the left side of his head.

LAPD is asking anyone with knowledge of his identity or whereabouts to call Detective Eberhardt or Officer Adrian Maxwell of the Hollywood Devision at (213) 972-2955. The public may also call 1-877-LAPD-24-7 during non-business hours or weekends.
