Pimp Slapped With 7 Year Prison Sentence
SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — A 33-year-old Los Angeles man was slapped with a seven year prison sentence Friday for being a pimp in Anaheim.
Prosecutors said Chauncey Lawrence Arnold persuaded a woman who lived in Atlanta to meet him in Los Angeles.
He purchased a bus ticket for the woman, and after she arrived, he persuaded her to become a prostitute and give him her money, according to the Orange County DA's office.
After police met the woman in May 2011, they learned Arnold was her pimp.
Rather than charge the woman with a misdemeanor, prosecutors decided to go after Arnold and offered the woman immunity for her testimony against him.
The DA said Arnold skipped bail during his May 2012 jury trial.
He was arrested in LA on Oct. 30.
