Pilot Walks Away Unhurt After Small Plane Crash Lands In El Monte
EL MONTE (CBS) A single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza made a forceful landing Thursday at El Monte Airport because of engine problems, a Federal Aviation Administration official said.
The pilot, who was the only person aboard the plane, was flying from Chino to Camarillo when he started experiencing engine problems, Ian Gregor of the FAA said.
The engine lost power and the plane landed hard around 6:45 p.m., Gregor said.
"It skidded in and it definitely came in the wrong way," Ralph Batres of the El Monte Police Department said.
The pilot was not injured.
The plane is registered to Bernard M. Diamond MD Inc.
