PG Jeremy Lin Said He Hasn't Ruled Out Return To Lakers At Exit Interviews
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (CBSLA.com/AP) — Guard Jeremy Lin hasn't ruled out a return to the Los Angeles Lakers next season despite his up-and-down first season with the club.
Lin, Nick Young and other injured Lakers spoke about their future Tuesday.
"I know how fast things change in this league. There were times when I thought I would never be a part of this league." Lin added that returning to the Lakers is a possibility. "I'm not ruling anything out, and I don't know where I'm going to be next year."
Los Angeles ends its season Wednesday at home against the Sacramento Kings.
Lin will be an unrestricted free agent after making nearly $15 million this season with the Lakers. He bounced in and out of coach Byron Scott's starting lineup, but averaged 11.2 points and 4.6 assists per game.
Lin acknowledges he got off to a rough start, but eventually grew more comfortable in Scott's system.
The Lakers were the fourth NBA team in five seasons for Lin, who gained international fame during a dynamic 35-game stint with the New York Knicks in 2012.
As for rookie forward Julius Randle, who had a season-ending leg injury on the first game of the season, said he tried to take a negative and learn to make a positive out of it.
"Even though I didn't get to play, it was still a huge learning process," Randle said. "I got a lot out of it. Obviously I wanted to play, but the valuable things I learned this year I wouldn't give away."
Ever since the 20-year old has been able to workout, Randle has been working out non-stop.
"I feel great," added Randle. "I work out everyday, do my treatment and rehab stuff. I'm starting to ramp it up a bit."
The Lakers are hoping Randle will be healthy enough to start playing the Summer League in Las Vegas.
