A person was injured after they jumped from the second story of an apartment building that was on fire in Westlake on Sunday. 

The blaze was reported a little before 11:30 a.m. at a four-story apartment building in the 100 block of S. Reno Street, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. 

It took 50 firefighters just over a half an hour to extinguish the flames, which they believe started in the second floor hallway before extending to the third floor. 

Crews say that multiple units were damaged by the fire but did not have exact numbers at the latest time of report. 

One person was assessed at the scene after jumping from the second floor of the building as it was on fire, the LAFD statement said. No other injuries were reported. 

Arson investigators were called to the scene to work on determine what caused the fire. 

No further information was provided.
