Perry To Hit Campaign Trail After Wednesday's GOP Debate
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Texas Gov. Rick Perry has shored up his position as the Republican frontrunner after Wednesday's G.O.P. showdown in Simi Valley.
Perry heads back out on the campaign trail in Southern California Thursday, after taking part in his first Republican presidential debate.
During Wednesday's debate, Perry referred to Social Security as a "monstrous lie and Ponzi scheme," while former Mass. Gov. Mitt Romney said he would work to fix the program, not kill it.
Perry is expected to speak at Roger's Gardens in Corona del Mar before attending a luncheon fundraiser at The Island Hotel in Newport Beach. He will also attend fundraising and dinner receptions in Los Angeles Thursday night.
Perry will head north to Bakersfield, Fresno and Palo Alto Friday.
