Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Vehicle Near Topanga Beach
PACIFIC PALISADES (CBSLA.com) — A 25-year-old Los Angeles resident was struck and killed by a vehicle on Pacific Coast Highway, east of Topanga Beach, early Saturday morning,.
Paramedics responded to the scene just after 3:30 a.m., according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey, and took at least one person to a hospital.
Los Angeles Police Department officer Nuria Vanegas confirmed that a pedestrian was killed, but was not able to provide the person's gender. No charges have been filed.
The highway was closed for six hours for an extensive investigation. Traffic was detoured through Pacific Palisades while PCH was closed between Temescal Canyon Road and Sunset Boulevard. The highway reopened at about 9:30 a.m., according to a Los Angeles County deputy from the Malibu/Lost Hills station.
