Pedestrian killed, another hospitalized after crash in Jurupa Valley
One pedestrian was killed and another is in critical condition following a crash in Jurupa Valley on Thursday.
It happened a little after 6 p.m. near the intersection of Mission Boulevard and Soto Avenue, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.
Upon arrival, deputies found two pedestrians lying in the street, along with the driver of the car that hit them.
Both victims were rushed to a nearby hospital where one was later declared dead. They have been identified as 42-year-old Freddie Medina by authorities.
The second victim remains in critical condition as of Friday evening.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation and detectives have not yet determined if drugs or alcohol were factors.
