Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Vehicle On 170 Freeway In North Hollywood
NORTH HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — A man was fatally struck by a vehicle Monday as he walked across a freeway in North Hollywood.
Shortly after 3:30 a.m., the pedestrian was struck in the southbound lanes of the 170 Freeway at Sherman Way, according to California Highway Patrol officers.
Upon their arrival, paramedics pronounced the victim, who is believed to have been in his mid 30s, dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.
At this time, it remains unclear if the victim walked onto the freeway or got out of a vehicle.
All southbound lanes of the freeway remained closed until 6:10 a.m., CHP officers said.
