Pedestrian, 52, Killed While Walking On 110 Freeway
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a 52-year-old man, a possible transient, was struck and killed Sunday morning while walking on the 110 Freeway.
The unidentified man was killed about 4:05 a.m. while walking southbound on the northbound lane of the freeway, just south of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, according to CHP Officer Patrick Kimball.
The man was struck by a white Chevrolet Camaro. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Kimball said.
The victim reportedly tried to run from the right shoulder to the center divider when he was struck by the Camaro, according to a department statement.
The Camaro driver pulled to the right shoulder and waited for the arrival of the CHP, according to the department statement. The driver was not injured.
The name of the deceased will be released pending notification of next of kin, said Coroner's Investigator Dana Bee.
