Pasadena Declares Local Water Emergency
PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — The Pasadena City Council has declared a local water emergency.
The council passed the mandatory restrictions, which limits watering to three days a week during summer months, in a meeting Monday night.
The Level 1 plan includes other restrictions such as repairing leaks within 72 hours, banning water runoff onto pavement and restricting the use of a hose without a shut-off nozzle.
Local restaurants are also not allowed to serve drinking water unless by a patron's request.
Those who do not comply with the rules can be fined $500 for residential customers and $1,000 for businesses.
Pasadena Water and Power customers can report water waste by calling (626) 744-8888 at any time or report online via the Pasadena Citizen Service Center at cityofpasadena.net/csc.
