Pasadena Assemblyman Urges Boycott Of Florida
PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — A Democratic Pasadena assemblyman plans to introduce a resolution calling for a boycott of Florida in the wake of the acquittal of George Zimmerman in the death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
"When I heard the verdict last weekend, I was disappointed and saddened," said Chris Holden. "Another young black child is dead and nobody is being held accountable. It is a true nightmare scenario for every black parent in America, and a sad commentary on racial injustice in this country."
Holden said the resolution on behalf of the California Legislative Black Caucus would encourage anyone who normally does business in Florida "to consider patronizing other states" until the Stand Your Ground law is repealed.

"It's just not safe to travel in Florida until the law is changed," he said.
On Sunday, singer Stevie Wonder announced he would not perform in Florida until the law is abolished.
