Part 2 Of 60 Freeway 'Summer Slam' To Begin Friday Night In City Of Industry
INDUSTRY (CBSLA.com) — The second of a four-part closure dubbed the "Summer Slam" on the Pomona (60) Freeway will begin Friday night in the city of Industry.
The 55-hour closure of two westbound lanes will start at 10 p.m. and continue through Monday at 5 a.m.
"We are digging out the pavement between Nogales and Fullerton, just that one mile section," the public affairs chief for Caltrans District 7 Lauren Wonder told KNX1070. "This area has some really bad broken-up pavement. You know we've been paving all along Pomona Freeway between 57 and 605, but this particular area we really need to do intensive rehabilitation."

"We're calling it 'Summer Slam on 60' for good reasons. If you don't heed the warnings, avoid the area, use alternate routes and plan ahead you are going to be slammed in traffic," Wonder said.
The closures are part of a $120 million freeway rehabilitation project.
The next closure is scheduled to begin Aug. 9. For more information, click here.
