Parolee Found Hiding In Backyard Of Home He Shared With Dead Woman
TEMECULA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities said they found a parolee hiding in the backyard of a Temecula home he shared with a women who turned up dead.
Short of calling the man a suspect, officials said the parolee was wanted for questioning in the woman's death but they couldn't find him yesterday.
Sheriff's deputies received a call at 3:12 p.m. Friday about a woman who was unresponsive in a home in the 44000 block of Calle Hilario.
After arriving at the home, deputies found Shirley Corrales, 20.
She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Riverside County Sheriff's Sgt. Jim Erickson.
Edgar Silva, 26, a resident of the home reportedly had a warrant for violating his parole.
He was designated a person of interest. He was not home Friday and could not be found during a predawn search.
Silva was spotted at 10:20 a.m. Saturday. Erickson said he was "hiding" in the backyard.
Deputies used a K-9 officer to apprehend Silva. He was booked on a parole hold, Erickson said.
Silva was not named as a homicide suspect.
Other than housemates, it is unclear if Corrales and Silva had any other type of relationship.
