Padres Avoid Sweep, Rip Dodgers 7-2
SAN DIEGO (AP) -- Aaron Harang pitched six sharp innings, and Ryan Ludwick broke out of a slump with a go-ahead homer and Nick Hundley added a two-run shot in the San Diego Padres' 7-2 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday.
Cameron Maybin had a solo home run and an RBI triple as the Padres avoided a three-game sweep.
Ludwick was 2 for 23 on the season before he connected off John Ely (0-1), who was called up from Triple-A before the game, for his first homer leading off the fourth inning.
Harang (2-0) turned in his second solid performance, allowing two runs -- one earned -- on three hits.
The first run he allowed came without the benefit of a hit while the second scored on
Harang's throwing error.
Harang and three relievers combined on a three-hitter.
