Pac-12 Struggles To Open Inaugural Season
PHOENIX (CBS/AP) - The Pac-12 gained some attention over the weekend with the revival of rumors that Texas and Oklahoma were again interested in heading West.
On the field, the news wasn't so encouraging.
Headlined by Oregon's loss to LSU at Cowboys Stadium on Saturday night, the Pac-12 had a rough opening weekend.
The Ducks couldn't get their high-flying offense off the ground and lost to a team plagued by distractions. Oregon State opened with an overtime loss to FCS Sacramento State. UCLA was run over by Houston and quarterback Case Keenum. Colorado had its road losing streak pushed to 18 straight games against Hawaii.
Even some of the wins weren't so great. USC was not able to score in the second half against Minnesota as they barely escaped them 19-17.
And with another slate of tough games coming up this week, the conference's teams need to get better in a hurry.
