Pac-12 Presidents Against Adding 4 Schools To Conference
(CBS) -- Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott is going to have to work some more magic if the Pac-12 becomes the Pac-16.
The University of Oklahoma and the University of Texas have both been given the go-ahead from their schools presidents to leave the Big-12 and apply to the Pac-12, if accepted the Pac-12 will additionally take Texas Tech University and Oklahoma State University, making it a 16-team 'superconference.'
The biggest hurdle may not be the Longhorn Network, but a block of presidents from current Pac-12 schools who reportedly are against the idea of further expansion.
It is believed the Colorado Buffaloes are one of the schools against the addition of their former Big-12 rivals.
A 16-team 'superconference' would shift the Buffaloes along with Utah, Arizona State and Arizona one divison with the four new schools. The other division would be the original eight teams from the Pac-8. (USC, UCLA, Stanford, Cal, Oregon, Oregon St., Washington, Washington St.)
