Pac-12 Newbies Struggling In 1st Season

PHOENIX (AP) -- Utah joined the Pac-12 with the hope of becoming more than a BCS buster. Colorado escaped the Big 12, believing the West Coast was a better fit.

Nearly halfway through the inaugural Pac-12 season, things aren't going too well for its two new members.

Utah had a couple of wins early, but has yet to win in conference, losing to Southern California, Washington and Arizona State.

Colorado hasn't had much success anywhere, winning just one of its first six games and none in the Pac-12.

The Utes and Buffaloes have the conference's two worst offenses and are only middle of the pack on defense, making it difficult on them in a league filled with so many talented or improving teams.
