Overturned Tanker Truck Closes Highway 38 In San Bernardino
SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — A tanker truck with approximately 10,000 gallons of fuel has overturned in San Bernardino County, authorities said Friday.
The incident caused a major fuel spill on State Route 38 (SR 38) about one mile above Angelus Oaks at approximately 9:35 a.m.,
according to Caltrans.
SR 38 has been closed from Angelus Oaks to Lake Williams until at least Saturday. Caltrans officials warned the clean-up could force a "long-term closure".
Motorists traveling to Big Bear or any area above Angelus Oaks were instructed to take SR 330 or SR 18 as a detour, or SR 18 from Lucerne Valley to Big Bear.
Anyone leaving the Big Bear area on SR 38 will not be permitted to travel below Lake Williams, officials said.
