Oscar Prep Forces Hollywood Street Closures
HOLLYWOOD (CBS) — Hollywood Boulevard near the Kodak Theatre will be closed most of next week as preparations begin for the 83rd Academy Awards ceremony.
The street will be closed between Highland Avenue and Orange Drive at 10 p.m. Sunday, then reopen at 6 a.m. Monday. It will be closed again at 10 p.m. Monday, and remain closed until 6 a.m. March 1.
Various other streets and sidewalks in the area will be closed at differing times during the week leading up to the Feb. 27 Oscar ceremony. Metro subway traffic will also be affected the weekend of the event, with Red Line trains bypassing the Hollywood and Highland station all day Feb. 27, with service resuming the morning of Feb. 28.
