Officials To Announce $50K Reward In Elderly Woman's Hit-And-Run Death
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The Los Angeles Police Department will announce a $50,000 reward Tuesday for information leading the arrest of two drivers who reportedly struck a 70-year-old woman in Pacoima.
Virginia Ramirez was walking west across Glenoaks Boulevard, in an unmarked crosswalk, near Mercer Street at approximately 6:30 a.m. on March 17.
While she was crossing the street a man, between 35-45 years old, struck Ramirez with his 1998 or 2000 model red Nissan Frontier pickup truck.
The driver stopped momentarily but then drove off, police reported.
Another driver, in a 1997-2001 Monte Carlo, ran over Ramirez and left the scene. The woman driving was between 25-35 years old, according to police.
