Officials Push Full Containment Of Mountain Fire To Friday
IDYLLWILD (CBSLA.com) — The Mountain Fire will not be fully contained until Friday, the U.S. Forest Service said.
Full containment was initially expected Wednesday, however, officials said the fire was only at 91 percent contained.
The blaze has scorched 27,531 acres since it began on July 15 in the San Bernardino National Forest.
The U.S. Forest Service estimated the fire has cost $24.3 million to battle.
All evacuation orders for communities around the fire area have been lifted and visitors have also been welcomed back.
More the 760 firefighters still remain on scene.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, but officials believe it was man-made.
