Officer Pleads No Contest To Having Sexual Relationship With Girl, 14
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A police officer assigned to a hospital for the mentally ill in Norwalk entered a no-contest plea on Friday to charges of engaging in a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl.
Mario Uribe Estrada, 41, was sentenced to three years in state prison after entering his plea to two counts of a lewd act on a child.
Estrada, who worked at the Metropolitan State Hospital, was also ordered to register as a sex offender for life.
"South Gate police, who investigated the case, said the victim was not connected to the hospital where he was assigned," according to a statement issued by the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office.
Estrada was arrested in May.
