Officer, Firefighter Treated For Smoke Inhalation At Recycling Yard Blaze In Anaheim

ANAHEIM (CBSLA.com) —  Fire officials said a firefighter and police officer are being treated for smoke inhalation following a smoky fire at a recycling yard in Anaheim.

The fire was reported just before 5 p.m. Sunday at SunWest Metals Inc.

Brittney Hopper, reporting from the scene for CBS2, said the first was mostly burning cardboard and plastic.

The smoky blaze could be seen for many miles.

Per SunWest's website, the company was incorporated in 1981. "Sunwest Metals Inc. is a full service recycling company based in Anaheim and serving the greater Los Angeles and Orange County area. Since its inception, Sunwest Metals has become one of the leading metal recycling organizations in Southern California," according to the site.
