Off-Duty San Diego Officer Killed In Accident; 4th Death Since July
SAN DIEGO (CBS) — The San Diego Police Department is mourning the loss of yet another officer after an off-duty motorcycle policeman ran a red light and broadsided a pickup truck.
KNX 1070's Tom Reopelle reports three-year veteran Christopher Blakeley, 26, died at the scene of the accident, marking the fourth San Diego police officer killed in the past two months.

Blakely was speeding along a street in the Palm City neighborhood last Thursday evening when he hit the truck, which then overturned, police said.
Lt. Andra Brown said "it was a very somber moment" when the department learned of the latest casualty.
"A lot of shoulder sagging, a lot of head-shaking like 'When is this going to end?'," she said. "But there's a lot of questioning, you know, 'Why does this keep happening?'"
Detective Donna Williams and her daughter were found dead at their home in July. Her son has pleaded not guilty to murder.
Officer David Hall, who is accused of drunk driving-related charges, killed himself on Aug. 1.
Officer Jeremy Henwood was shot by a gunman on Aug. 7.
