'Odd Couple' Star Jack Klugman Dead At The Age Of 90
NORTHRIDGE (CBSLA.com) —Actor Jack Klugman died Monday at the age of 90, his attorney confirmed.
"Mr. Klugman died peacefully at home in Northridge, California, with his loving wife, Peggy Klugman, at his side," attorney Larry Larson said.
Klugman was best known for his Emmy-winning role as the loveable slob Oscar in the 1970s sitcom "The Odd Couple" and as a medical examiner on the TV drama "Quincy, M.E."
The actor also had several notable film roles, including a part in "12 Angry Men."
He was nominated for a Tony Award for his role in Broadway's "Gypsy."
In 1974, Klugman was diagnosed with throat cancer. In 1989, he lost a vocal cord to the disease, but continued to work on the stage and television.
Klugman was born in Philadelphia on April 27, 1922.
He is survived by his wife, two sons and two grandchildren.
Memorial services have not been set.
