OC Women Celebrated For Being Extraordinary Mothers
NEWPORT BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Some lucky Orange County women were honored Friday for being extraordinary mothers.
Tracy Vann won an online "Super Mom" contest sponsored by Z'Tejas Southwestern Grill in Costa Mesa.
In addition to a free Mother's Day dinner, Vann was given a hair and makeup salon certificate and her very own cleaning crew for the day.
Vann, who was nominated for the competition by her best friend, was chosen in part because of her endless care and devotion to her son with autism.
"It's a lot of work. It's like having a 2-year-old, but he's 18. He has to have constant supervision. He can't be left alone for five minutes," she said.
In Newport Beach, two women were selected from 20,000 entries as the winners of the "Why Mom Deserves a Diamond" contest, all thanks to their poetic children.
"She works really hard," Tony Scarsciotti said about his mother. "She cooks me meals. She cleans my room for me."
"She an amazing mom, I couldn't wish for anything better," Gage Butterfield said of his mom.
