OC Parents Indicted On Suspicion Of Planting Drugs
SANTA ANA (AP) — The Irvine parents who were accused of planting pills and a marijuana pipe in the car of a PTA president have been indicted on charges that they plotted against the woman.
An Orange County grand jury indicted 38-year-old Kent Wycliff Easter and 39-year-old Jill Bjorkholm Easter on Thursday on conspiracy and false imprisonment charges.
The couple, both lawyers, pleaded not guilty last month. City News Service reports the indictment will eliminate the need for a preliminary hearing.
The Easters are accused of targeting school volunteer and PTA president Kelli Peters because they believed she had locked their first-grade son outside during an afterschool program.
Authorities say the father left drugs in Peters' unlocked car late one night and called police the next afternoon to report erratic driving near an elementary school, giving authorities a fake name.
