OC Man Wanted In Robbery And Kidnapping Arrested In Undercover Drug Sting

SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — An Orange County burglary and kidnapping suspect was in custody Friday after being arrested in an unrelated drug case.

Thomas Walker was arrested on Wednesday during an undercover drug operation in the 1400 block of East 1st Street, Santa Ana police said.

Based on leads received from the public, Walker was identified as the suspect wanted in connection to a home invasion robbery and kidnapping that had occurred at an apartment complex in the 500 block of N. Lyon Street earlier in the week.

Walker is accused of entering the units of two women on Feb. 25. He entered one apartment through an unlocked door and allegedly stole $100 from the victim's purse while she slept.

Later in the day, he returned to the same complex and forcibly entered a different apartment through a window.

"Once inside the suspect was confronted by a female resident, the suspect grabbed the victim and forced her to remain in her home for approx. 2-3 hours, refusing to allow the victim to leave her residence," Santa Ana police said.

Fearing for her safety, the victim complied with the suspect's demands and cooked for him while he smoked methamphetamine in her kitchen, officials said.

Walker then allegedly stole the woman's beach cruiser bike and fled the scene.

He was later arrested blocks from the apartment complex while selling meth to undercover officers on Feb. 27.

Walker is being held on $1 million bail.
