OC Bank Robbery Suspect Threatens To Shoot Wells Fargo Teller Before Making Off With Cash
COSTA MESA (CBSLA.com) — Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a bank robber who threatened to shoot a teller in Costa Mesa on Wednesday.
The heist took place shortly after 4 p.m. at a Wells Fargo branch at 301 West 17th Street, Costa Mesa police Lt. Greg Scott said.
The suspect approached a teller and handed her a note that stated he'd shoot her if she didn't hand over cash.
No handgun was visible.
The teller handed over the money and the suspect fled the scene.
No one saw a getaway car.
The suspect was described as white, in his 30s or 40s and six feet tall, with a medium build. He had a dark goatee and wore a black baseball cap. He also wore a black long-sleeved, button-down shirt, a dark tie and a clear rain poncho.
Anyone with information about the robbery was asked to call Costa Mesa police at (714) 754-5356.
