In addition to honoring ancestors, many celebrate by painting their faces, wearing costumes or eating sugar skulls and pan de muerto. For the event at Fairhaven Memorial Park, visitors are encouraged to bring photos of their loved ones to place on the altar. There will also be an offertory, a memorial service, entertainment and Mexican cuisine.
