Northbound Sepulveda Tunnel Closed During Suspicious Package Probe
LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Police briefly shut down the northbound lanes of the Sepulveda Tunnel under the runways of Los Angeles International Airport to investigate a suspicious package.
Both Los Angeles police and Airport police responded to the pedestrian, who made suspicious statements about holding an electronic device that could explode, LAPD Capt. Phillip S. Fontanetta said.
The items the pedestrian had were examined by the bomb squad, who determined they were not dangerous in any way, Fontanetta said.
