NorCal Man Accused Of Trying To Bring Loaded Gun Into Disneyland To Appear In Court
ORANGE COUNTY (CBSLA.com) — A 44-year-old man accused of trying to bring a loaded gun into Disneyland is expected to appear in court on Thursday.
According to the Orange County District Attorney's Office, Percival Agoncillo, of San Mateo County, faces three felony charges.
Around 9 p.m. on July 9, he was arrested for possessing a loaded firearm with a prior, according to the Anaheim Police Department.
Police said a security officer spotted Agoncillo in the park's entry plaza holding the firearm, which prompted an investigation.
Upon their arrival to the Esplanade Plaza area, police located him attempting to place the gun back in his pocket.
Agoncillo was taken into custody before he entered the park. He was booked into the Anaheim Police Department Jail on $20,000 bail.
No injuries were reported.
The motive for the incident remains unclear. Agoncillo reportedly told detectives he was seeing ghosts.
Disneyland has declined to comment as the case is a criminal investigation.
He is expected to appear in court in Fullerton later today.
