No Evidence Of Foul Play In Infant's Death At North Hills Daycare
NORTH HILLS (CBSLA.com) — Detectives are investigating the death of a two-and-a-half-month-old boy who died at a North Hills daycare.
The boy stopped breathing Monday while at Kary's Daycare in the 10000 block of Marklein Avenue, Lt. Paul Vernon of the Los Angeles Police Department said.
It was the baby's first time at the childcare facility.
"Just after 5 p.m., Monday evening, the caregiver gave CPR and called paramedics immediately when she discovered the baby was not breathing as she prepared him to go home with his father," Lt. Vernon said.
Paramedics transported the infant to Holy Cross Hospital, but doctors were unable to revive him.
"Detectives from LAPD's Abused Child Unit (ACU) and the Coroner's investigator examined the scene and the child and found no evidence of foul play," Vernon said.
The cause of death is under investigation by the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office. Officials believe the child's death was due to a medical reason.
No charges have been filed in the case.
