No Death Penalty For Man Charged In 3 LA Killings
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Los Angeles County Prosecutors say they will not seek the death penalty against a man indicted earlier this year on charges that he strangled three women in the 1980s.
City News Service reports Thursday that 73-year-old Samuel Little faces life in prison without the possibility of parole if convicted of the killings.
Little was arrested in Kentucky last September on an unrelated narcotics charge out of Los Angeles, and extradited to California.
He was charged in January and indicted in April, allowing the case to move to trial without the need for a preliminary hearing.
City News Service says he was linked to the killings through DNA evidence found by Los Angeles Police Department cold-case detectives.
