No Charges Filed Against Uber Driver Arrested On Suspicion Of Kidnapping Woman

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Prosecutors declined Wednesday to file charges against a driver for a ride-share company who was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping a woman and taking her to a Panorama City motel.

Officials with the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office cited the "unavailability" of the alleged victim in the decision.

Frederick Dencer, 32, of Encino, was released from jail shortly after noon Wednesday, according to officials.

Dencer was arrested Monday after a 26-year-old local woman called police from a 7-11 market in Panorama City to report she had just left a motel room where a man had been lying next to her shirtless, according to the LAPD Mission Division.
