New Orleans Police Looking For LA Man Accused Of Trying To Steal Pricey Banksy Mural
NEW ORLEANS (CBS/AP) — New Orleans police say they're looking for a Los Angeles man accused of trying to steal a big chunk of cinder block wall bearing a painting by the world-renowned graffiti artist Banksy.
An emailed news release says police have a warrant to arrest 30-year-old Christopher Sensabaugh on charges of attempted theft and criminal damage to property.
Police say the mural could be worth $200,000 to $1.1 million.
The suspect was reportedly photographed by local residents trying to remove the mural at 1034 N. Rampart last month. He reportedly told them he was removing the piece for an art show in London.
Sensabaugh is 6 feet 2 inches tall and approximately 215 pounds, said authorities.
