Nearly 100 Minor Earthquakes Shake Mammoth In 24 Hours
MAMMOTH LAKES (CBSLA.com) — More than 93 micro or minor earthquakes have shaken the eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains in the last 24 hours, the U.S. Geological Survey said Friday.
The tremblors all range between magnitude 2.0 and 3.8.
The USGS says the recent activity could be coming from Mammoth Mountain, which is a volcano that last erupted 57,000 years ago.
September is Earthquake Preparedness Month.
