'NCIS' Actress Using Her Star Power To Help Families Track Missing Loved Ones
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — "NCIS" star Pauley Perrette is using her name recognition to help families in need ... specifically, those trying to find missing loved ones.
Perrette spoke with CBS2 and KCAL9 reporter Stacey Butler Friday about her latest effort -- to help an Orange County family find their missing daughter.
The actress is known to millions around the world as offbeat forensics scientist, Abby.
The missing woman's mother, Linda Kricfalusi, calls her daughter's disappearance, "The worst nightmare. The not knowing is the worst."
Lacey Brooks, 36, of Anaheim, went missing on November 29th. She vanished without a trace after walking from her father's house in Downey.
Her parents scheduled an appointment for Brooks to see a psychiatrist that same morning.
The last thing anyone saw from the woman was a note that read: "Went for a walk. Please let mom know. I'm not going to the appt. today."
She scratched out, "Don't feel like talking."
Her dad said, "She could be almost anywhere. We just want to know that she is alive."
Her parents filed a missing person's report on December 4. Her mom said, "It is so out of character for her to do anything hurtful."
Officials said it was the second missing person's report filed about Brooks since last October.
Butler reports in the first instance, the woman went to Arizona without telling anyone. She returned weeks later.
This time Perrette believes it is different. "She doesn't have her phone, she doesn't have her watch. She doesn't have her dog -- which she goes nowhere without."
Police said they don't suspect foul play.
