Fatal Motorcycle Accident Shuts Down NB 405 Through Sepulveda Pass
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The northbound lanes of the San Diego (405) Freeway through the Sepulveda Pass were shut down early Wednesday morning due to a fatal motorcycle accident.
Fallon Naccarato's motorcyclist rear-ended a vehicle around 3:45 a.m., just north of the Getty Center Drive exit, the California Highway Patrol said.
Naccarato, of Newbury Park, was pronounced dead at the scene. It was unclear if speed was a factor in the crash.
A SigAlert was issued and all northbound lanes were closed just after 4:15 a.m., causing a backup to Sunset Boulevard.
The CHP was able to divert traffic off at Getty Center Drive around 5 a.m. after Caltrans opened up Sepulveda Boulevard to traffic.
One lane of the northbound 405 Freeway was reopened around 5:30 a.m. as officials continued their investigation. All lanes were reponed at 8:45 a.m., the CHP said.
