NASA Administrator Visits JPL To Check Progress Of Satellites Designed To Monitor Earth's Climate
PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — A NASA administrator was at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena Tuesday to check the progress of three satellites designed to monitor the Earth's climate.
"You've been hearing us talking about Mars, you've been hearing us talk about everything else, a lot of people don't realize that JPL plays a vital role in Earth science," said Charles Bolden.

KNX 1070's Megan Goldsby reported that Bolden said the three satellites he came to learn more about will look at ocean winds, soil moisture and carbon dioxide.
"They all are related to climate and understanding how the climate processes work on Earth; how we can better understand the weather," he said.
Shawn Goodman, a JPL engineer, said that will help in better predicting everything from big storms to droughts to forest fires.
